Board-Certified Dermatology
Horizon’s founder, Dr. M. David Cole, is a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. He graduated with highest honors from UCLA, and received his medical degree from the University of Virginia. Dr. Cole’s post-graduate training in dermatology included both the Yale University School of Medicine and Loma Linda University Medical Center; prior to opening Horizon Dermatology & Laser Institute, he was a clinical professor of dermatology at the UC Irvine School of Medicine.
Due to Dr. Cole’s extensive clinical and academic background, Horizon Dermatology & Laser Institute is able to offer a full spectrum of cosmetic and medical dermatology services. Acne is the most common skin condition in the U.S., affecting an estimated 80% of people between ages 11 and 30, and up to 55% of people between ages 20 and 40. Dr. Cole provides a variety of acne treatments, including Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), glycolic and salicylic acid peels, cyst extractions and more. Horizon Dermatology & Laser Institute also treats a variety of other common skin conditions, including warts, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, skin tags and other benign growths.

He recommends that everybody (particularly his fellow Southern Californians, who are constantly tempted with opportunities to spend time in the sunshine) get checked annually for any new, changing or otherwise suspicious-looking moles.
